Không có một đáp án “cứng” để trả lời các câu hỏi trong phần thi IELTS Speaking Part 1. Bạn có thể tham khảo bài viết này để có thể hình dung những chủ đề phổ biến và những câu hỏi xung quanh chủ đề đó. Mặc dù, không bạn không nên học thuộc lòng các câu trả lời cho câu hỏi đó, tuy nhiên cũng có những quy tắc trả lời mà bạn phải luôn ghi nhớ. Một trong số đó như: Câu trả lời tránh lặp lại từ trong câu hỏi, Giải thích có kèm theo ví dụ minh họa, sử dụng hình thức so sánh (tương đồng, hoặc trái ngược) trước khi kết thúc câu trả lời.

Chủ đề mẫu: Reading and writing

5 câu hỏi từ 1 đến 5 là những câu hỏi về các hoạt động thường ngày và những câu hỏi này thuộc loại câu hỏi đơn giản và trực tiếp. Số điểm của bạn sẽ phụ thuộc vào cách bạn đề cập tới những điểm ngữ pháp & từ vựng như sau:

  • Sử dụng những “từ vựng lưu loát” để tạo câu nói tự nhiên như: well; oh; I’m afraid; to be honest; actually.
  • Sử dụng cách nói thay thế một từ cùng ý trong câu hỏi, hoặc sự khẳng định để tránh đi sự lặp lại từ vựng trong câu hỏi: I don’t; yes there is; all kinds.
  • Sử dụng thì hiện tại đơn để nói về những hoạt động thường ngày: get; use; spend.
  • Sử dụng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn để nói đến hoạt động đang diễn ra: I’m studying.
  • So sánh giữa tình huống hiện tại và quá khứ có thể nói: used to spend.
  • Mở rộng câu trả lời bằng cách đưa ra những lý do để giải thích, câu ví dụ minh họa hoặc sử dụng cấu trúc nhượng bộ.

1. Do you read a daily newspaper?

I don’t, I’m afraid. Like a lot of people, I get my news from the internet. It’s so much faster.

Oh, all kinds really. I’ve got about a hundred books at home, actually: fiction, non-fiction, and lots of books about art.

5 câu hỏi tiếp theo, từ câu 6 đến câu 10 khó hơn so với 5 câu hỏi trên khi bạn phải sử dụng các thời điểm khác nhau hoặc phải trả lời bằng chính trải nghiệp thực của mình. Để đạt số điểm cao trong phần thi này, bạn cần phải lưu ý những điểm sau:

  • Thể hiện khả năng sẵn sàng trả lời câu hỏi bằng 1 câu trả lời đầy đủ và chi tiết (câu 6, câu 7).
  • Sử dụng từ nhấn mạnh số lượng như : much, just để thêm vào thông tin về mối quan tâm của mình (câu 7, câu 9).
  • Đưa ra lời bình luận về một lập luận nào đó trong câu trả lời (câu 7).
  • Sử dụng các câu trúc ngữ pháp khác nhau, nhưng phải chắc rằng bạn đang sử dụng đúng thì của động từ (câu 8).
  • Sử dụng những động từ khuyết thiếu như must be Khi bạn không chắc chắn về câu trả lời hoặc một lời nhận xét nào đó (câu 9).
  • Thể hiện sự thừa nhận một lập luận nào đó trong câu hỏi và trả lời ý của bạn bằng cách sử dụng từ would (câu 10).

6. What kind of books did you read as a child?

When I was in primary school I used to really like adventure stories. Huckleberry Finn was probably my favourite book. I think I read it more than five times!

7. What’s the last thing you read and enjoyed?

This might sound a bit strange but I got my mobile phone bill yesterday and it was much lower than I expected. That was a nice surprise!

8. Have you ever kept a diary?

I have, actually. Last year I tried to write one but it only lasted about two weeks. When I have more time, I’d like to try again.

9. What’s the most popular newspaper in your country?

I’m not sure, to be honest, but the Times of India seems to be sold everywhere so it must be that.

10. Would you ever write your own autobiography?

I don’t think I would, no. My life just isn’t interesting enough to write a book about, I’m afraid.
